Joe Rocket Skyline 2.0 Jacket Review

The Joe Rocket Skyline 2.0 is the newest edition to be added to Joe Rocket‘s collection of officially licensed Honda Goldwing®  products.  The Skyline 2.0 uses the same FreeAir™ textile mesh outershell as the original, but features more aggressive styling and bolder reflective piping.  The Skyline 2.0 will also feature the new 6-point SureFit™ custom adjustment system, making it a much more comfortable and better fitting riding jacket than the original Skyline.   For all of those who take pride in owning a Goldwing, the Skyline 2.0 still has the large Goldwing®  logo on the rear and smaller insignia on the upper left chest of the jacket.

The Joe Rocket Skyline 2.0 has FreeAir™ mesh on the front and back of the jacket to ensure a cool flow of air continuously runs through the jacket.  Underneath the mesh outershell lies a removable waterproof liner that can be inserted when the weather takes a turn for the worst.  For protection, the Joe Rocket Skyline 2 has CE approved armor on the shoulders and elbows.  It also has a rear pocket where removable CE approved back armor can be inserted.  For increased safety, the Skyline 2 Jacket uses more reflective striping on the front, sleeves, and back than the first Skyline riding jacket.

Another area of improvement for the Skyline 2 is the use of the new 6-point SureFit™ custom adjustment system.  This system uses adjustable straps on both elbows, wrist, and sides of the lower abdomen to create a unique fit for every rider.  In addition to being comfortable, the Joe Rocket Skyline 2.0 Jacket has abundance of storage areas to keep personal items secure when riding.   These include two exterior pockets and one pocket on the inside of the jacket.  This jacket also has a microfiber pocket especially made for storing eye glasses.  New to the Skyline 2.0 edition, a special clip made for keeping your keys secure while riding exist on the inside of the jacket.  Also included with the Skyline 2.0 Jacket is an 8” zipper for attaching riding pants.   The Skyline 2.0 is the ultimate jacket for the touring rider or anyone who is proud to own a GoldWing.

Joe Rocket Cleo 2.2 Jacket Review

Joe Rocket’s line of Cleo textile mesh motorcycle jackets are the most popular line of women’s riding  jackets on the market today.  Looking to continue its success, Joe Rocket is releasing the new and improved Cleo 2.2 for Summer 2012.  The Cleo 2.2 picks up where the Cleo 2.0 left off, with a few changes to improve overall comfort and fit.  The Joe Rocket Cleo 2.2 Mesh Jacket also incorporates a fresh new graphics package, making it a much more appealing jacket than the 2.0.

The exterior of the Joe Rocket Cleo 2.2 Jacket is comprised of FreeAir™ poly mesh, covering  the front of the torso and back for maximum ventilation.   The  FreeAir™ poly mesh  system will keep a cool stream of air coming through the jacket on hot summer rides.  The Joe Rocket Cleo 2.2 also has a removable waterproof liner that can be secured inside the jacket when riding in inclement weather conditions.  To keep the rider safe, The Joe Rocket Cleo has textile reinforced arms and shoulders.  There is also CE approved armor on the shoulders and elbows, with a pocket on back of the jacket for removable CE approved spine armor.

The Cleo 2.2 mesh jacket also has the storage areas a rider needs to secure her personal items during rides.  These include two exterior pockets, and one pocket on the inside of the jacket.  The Cleo 2.2 also has a special interior pocket for a MP3 player, with a port that allows the rider to insert headphones through the jacket.  The Cleo 2.2 also includes an 8″ zipper for attaching riding pants.

Scorpion EXOwear Ventech Men’s Jacket

The Scorpion EXOwear Ventech Men’s Jacket is a great choice for a summer riding jacket. It has a simple, clean style, free from the clutter of excessive logos and patches. Made with Poly-mesh and ballistic Nylon panels, the Ventech has CE approved ventilated armor at the elbows and shoulders, as well as a back protector compartment w/ a PE foam pad. The interior of the jacket is lined with a lightweight, perforated lining to provide maximum airflow. The Ventech also comes with a removable Airguard liner to keep you warm on cooler rides. Joe Rocket Alter Ego 3.0 Jacket

The Joe Rocket Alter Ego 3.0 Jacket has three main components that make it versatile enough to handle any weather conditions. The Alter Ego consists of a 100% waterproof, textile jacket, a free-air mesh jacket liner, and a removable fleece vest warmth liner. All three of these elements, when used together, are called the Meta Sport II system.  This system features a completely removable outer layer that covers a complete mesh jacket underneath.

 

The top layer of the Alter Ego 3.0 is made of 100% waterproof Rock-Tex 660 outer-shell. It features a multipoint SureFit adjustment system to provide a customized fit. This outer shell has ‘VariableFlow’ ventilation system, and waterproof zippers. For easy storage, the outer-shell folds into a self-contained pouch.  The second layer of the Joe Rocket Alter Ego 3 is a FREE-Air Mesh jacket. This inner layer is made of heavy duty polyamide FREE-Air mesh. For protection there is grade A CE rated armor located in the shoulders and elbows. There is also a removable spine pad with a pocket for an optional CE spine protector. In terms of protection and armor, the Alter Ego 3 is similar to the ‘Joe Rocket Phoenix’ jacket, but the 3.0 has armor that is removable from the outside of the jacket. Like the outer layer, the mesh jacket has also been incorporated with the multipoint SureFit adjustment system. The Air Mesh jacket has reflective stripes for increased visibility, and storage pockets for eye glass or face shield storage.  The final layer of the 3.0 is a removable, fleece vest liner; perfect for those days when the weather gets a little cool.

TourMaster Sonora Air Mesh Jacket

The TourMaster Sonora Air is a ¾ length mesh jacket made from armor-link mesh, and a combination of 600 denier Carbolex and 1680 denier ballistic polyester over the impact areas.  This Tourmaster jacket has been designed for protection and comfort with a micro-fiber lined, mandarin style collar and sleeve cuffs. The adjustable elastic and snap sleeve take up straps at the forearm help to secure the elbow armor and any extra material. There are also adjustable waist belts with TPR pulls for a customized fit. The interior of the Sonora has an Aqua-Therm, two-stage waterproof and insulated liner that really allows you to customize the jacket for the conditions.  The first liner is a rainguard waterproof barrier, which will do a great job keeping you dry when it rains.  The second layer is a quilted thermal liner for cooler weather.  These liners can be installed independently of each other, or, for colder conditions, installed together for maximum warmth. For impact protection, there is removable CE approved armor at the elbows and shoulders as well as an articulated, triple density back protector. The Sonora Air Mesh Jacket has several storage options including: zippered chest map pockets, hand warmer pockets, an internal pouch pocket, and a mobile media pocket. 360 Phosolite reflective piping and Tourmaster’s reflective rear logo help give the Sonora increased night-time visibility.
