Alpinestars Atem Leather Jacket Review

One of Alpinestars latest jacket designs is the Atem Leather Jacket. Made with 1.3mm high-grade leather, and reinforced critical impact zones, this Alpinestars jacket is going to provide premium protection on the road. Certified shoulder and elbow protectors offer standard protection, and there is a multiple snap button system for integration of the level 2 CE certified Alpinestars’ bionic back protector. Aside from the typical safety features found in most riding jackets, the Atem Leather jacket has a few unique qualities that won’t be found in every jacket. With a MotoGP profile, the Atem jacket has a perforated aero hump on the upper back for improved aerodynamic performance and ventilation. Most riding jackets have protectors in the shoulders, elbows, and back; the Atem jacket has all of the above, plus chest pad compartments with PE padding (Alpinestars Bionic Chest pads are available as an accessory upgrade). Alpinestars’ has also incorporated external exclusive Dynamic Friction Shield (DFS) Technology in the shoulders that have been race proven in MotoGP and WSBK.

To help keep the Atem jacket in position in the event of an accident, the jacket comes with a removable security strap. The Atem has just as many comfort features as it does safety features. There are several areas on the jacket that have integrated large, accordion stretch panels to help with ease of movement. For instance, the Aramidic stretch panels on the sleeves improve both fit and feel. The interior of the jacket has a multi-panel liner construction and 3D mesh inserts to improve comfort and ventilation. There are also multiple external, perforated leather panels with foam protector inserts. Critical displacement perforated panels are on the upper and lower body for improved ventilation. The Atem jacket’s sleeve cuff adjustments improve the range of fit and comfort.
