Joe Rocket Rasp 2.0 Jacket Review

Joe Rocket improves on its Rasp Jacket with the release of their Rasp 2.0 Jacket for Summer 2012.  The Joe Rocket Rasp 2.0 Jacket carries on the tradition of being a tough and durable urban riding jacket, but improves on overall comfort and fit.  The Joe Rocket Rasp 2.0 will also still feature the useful hybrid system that allows the jacket to be turned from completely waterproof to full mesh in seconds.

The Rasp 2.0 Jacket uses a RockTex 660™ outer shell reinforced with an additional layer of 500D Hitena® textile at the shoulders and elbows to keep the rider 100 percent dry in wet conditions.  The outer panels on this jacket can be removed to uncover 200 square inches of FreeAir™ mesh, making the this jacket the perfect choice for the hotter and humid days of summer.  The Rasp 2.0 textile jacket also uses the VariableFlow™ ventilation system to keep a continuous flow of cool air coming thru the jacket.  Underneath the mesh layer, a removable insulted vest liner exist that can be used to keep the rider warm when the weather turns cold.

The Rasp 2.0 Jacket is packed with tough and rugged CE approved armor on the shoulders and elbows, with an optional pocket in the back of the jacket where CE approved back armor can be added.  On top of the CE approved armor, the Rasp 2 Jacket features injection molded shoulder armor and sculpted high density foam spine padding.  This jacket is built to make sure the rider walks away in the event of a wipeout.  Additional safety features include a reflective stripe on the back of the jacket.

One of the biggest improvements over the original Rasp 2.0 Jacket are the upgrades made to the overall comfort and fit of the Rasp 2.0 Jacket.  The 2.0 features a 6-point SureFit™ custom adjustment system to assure every rider gets the fit he wants.  This jacket also provides several storage areas for personal items.  These include two outside pockets and one interior liner pocket.  The Joe Rocket Rasp 2 Jacket also comes with an extended back and belt loops to connect your Joe Rocket riding pants with.  With its rugged armor and all-season hybrid layers, the Joe Rocket Rasp 2 is built to last.

  1. 4 mph parking lot tip over , the jacket shredded at the seams of the right pocket(have gopro video to prove) this jacket doesn’t have the ability to hold up to any real speed accident…so what is it good for? Joe rocket customer service avoids my calls, the rep for my local shop does too…. Do not buy any joe rocket equipment, they do not stand behind their product
