“The Capetown”: A New Touring Jacket by Alpinestars

The Alpinestars Capetown Air Drystar Jacket is a ¾ length, touring style jacket. It has plenty of mesh, and breathable fabric, making it a great jacket for riding in warmer weather. The Capetown is lined with a “dual stage drystar liner”. This thin, light, quilted liner is fully sleeved with taped seams. It is both waterproof and thermal. The Capetown has plenty of adjustment features including non-aggressive, micro velcro wrist straps that can accommodate either short cuff or gauntlet gloves. There are also adjustment straps over the forearm and bicep to help reduce flapping. The waist of the jacket has two adjustment belts, and there are expansion gussets with zippered closures on the sides. The shoulders and elbows of the Capetown jacket are covered in a stretch material, giving the rider a better range of motion.  For protection, the shoulders and elbows are covered with CE certified Bioarmor. There is also PE foam in both the chest and back. Both can be upgraded to Bioarmor. The PE foam chest pad is perforated, so it will not block airflow. For storage, there are large, hidden chest pockets that are lined with mesh, front cargo pockets, a large, lower back pocket, and two internal storage pockets.  The collar of the Capetown is lined with a soft, fleece-like material to reduce any chaffing. For nighttime visibility, there is plenty of reflective material on the chest, back and arms. The inside of the jacket has a pants connection zipper compatible with Alpinestars pants.
