Lorenzo’s R1 to be Auctioned off For Charity

riders_for_healthNext week at Motorcycle Live in England, one attendee will drive away on Jorge Lorenzo’s Yamaha R1. Lorenzo’s motorcycle, which he rode during the parade lap at the 2010 Isle of Man TT, will be put up for auction with proceeds going to Riders for health.

The bike, which was signed by Lorenzo, will go up for auction at Motorcycle Live on Sunday 20th November at 12.30pm.

The Yamaha R1 is worth about id=”mce_marker”6,000 off the showroom floor. Riders for Health, the official MotoGP charity, is hoping to raise a little more than that during the auction.

The auction is open to all Motorcycle Live attendees. If you want to bit on the bike, but can’t attend Motorcycle Live, you can bid by telephone. (call the Riders for Health office on +44 (0)1604 889 570 for more details.)

All the proceeds from the sale of will go to supporting Riders for Health’s work in Africa. Riders for Health works to provide rural communities with health care. The motorcycles donated, maintained, and managed by Riders for Health give doctors access to remote communities.
