Luis CarreiraPortuguese star Luis Carreira has some big plans for the 2011 Isle of Man TT. Carreira, with the help of Monster Energy and the CD Racing Team, will contest the Dainese Superbike and Pokerstars Senior Races aboard a Kawasaki ZX-10R.

Carreira will also ride a Kawasaki during the Royal London Superstock Race, but will switch to a Yamaha YZF-R6 for the two Monster Energy Supersport Races.

“I am really looking forward to returning to the Isle of Man and I’d also like to thank Chris (Dowd) for this opportunity,” said Carreira. “We have some good bikes and I think that we can do a good job. I can promise everyone that I will work hard to be able to reward everyone with good results in all races. Lastly I want to thank team Benimoto for their honesty and the support that they gave me with this decision.”

Carreira is a four-times Portuguese Stocksport1000 Champion and an accomplished road racer. Carreira has finished in the top 10 at the Macua GP numerous times, and made his Isle of Man debut in 2009.

Carreira finished 18th in his IOMTT debut, and clocked a 122.062 mph lap. Carreira picked up the speed in 2010, recording a 124.754mph lap around the mountain course.

Carreira will be racing with the CD Racing team in 2011, which is sure to be his best year to date. Chris Dowd, a former racer and current team boss, is excited about Carreira’s potential.

“Everyone in the team is really excited to be bringing Luis on board,” Dowd said. “He has massive potential to make a real impression on the top 10 at this year’s TT and we will be putting everything we can into him to achieve that. We are grateful for the ongoing support from our loyal sponsors as well as the essential assistance from Nick Morgan at MSS Kawasaki.”
