Rossi YSF-R1 Replica Goes Up for Auction

rossi-replica Now that Valentino Rossi has officially said goodbye to his Fiat Yamaha team, and hopped aboard a Ducati, it seems like the perfect time to reflect upon what was. Rossi and Yamaha’s YSF-R1 were a legendary combination, and now you can own a little reminder of that legacy.

No, you can’t keep Rossi in your garage, but you can own a replica of Rossi’s YSF-R1… if you have $50,000 – $70,000 to spend on a motorcycle.

If you do have an extra briefcase full of cash, you should know that the proceeds go to Riders for Health, an organization that uses motorcycles to deliver medicine to remote villages in Africa.

Riders for Health was founded by Grand Prix roadracer Randy Mmola, journalist Barry Coleman, and his wife Andrea. The program is in its 20th year, and provides an invaluable service to people in need of medical treatment in Africa.

“Our goal was to create a custom sportbike worthy of the title ‘Ultimate Track Day Bike’ while also being a unique collectible,” said Don Emde. “Getting Valentino’s blessing for the project was the trick and then everyone else jumped on board.”

The bike is endorsed and signed by Valentino Rossi, provided by Yamaha, and built with after market parts from the likes of Dynojet, K&N, EK, EBC, Bridgestone, and Ohlins. The winner of the auction will also get free racetrack instructions from the Yamaha Champions Riding School.
