Rossi Finishes 15th at Valencia Test, Ducati Vows Improvement

Rossi_DucatiAfter a less than impressive debut for Valentino Rossi at the Valencia test this weekend, Ducati has vowed to improve upon the Ducati Desmosedici. Rossi was just 15th fastest during the tests at Valencia, but both Rossi and Ducati are still confident about the future.

Rossi couldn’t match the time he achieved with the Fiat Yamaha team the weekend prior, and finished 1.69 seconds slower than the rider he replaced at Ducati, Casey Stoner.

Rossi was not able to speak about the test, due to a contract agreement with Yamaha, so Ducati Corse general manager Filippo Preziosi took questions after the testing session at Valencia.

“The objective is clearly to allow Valentino to ride like Valentino! We know we have to improve the bike in order to achieve this, especially the front end,” Preziosi said.”He has given us some very precise information and now it is down to us to use it.”

“We would obviously have liked to give him the opportunity to go faster today, but even though that wasn’t the case he has impressed everybody over the last two days with the way he works, his calm approach and his positive attitude towards everything.”

Rossi will now undergo surgery on his shoulder before making his full, and hopefully healthy, debut for Ducati in February.
